Michael J. Corby, CCP, CISSP, PMP
Michael Corby has over 39 years of experience in IT strategy, operations, development and security. Mr. Corby is an expert in the field of leading edge information security services, for education, government agencies and business including a business focused security architecture method for an entertainment and communications organization.
Mr. Corby has successfully managed large projects, developed flexible IT infrastructures and sound security organizations for hundreds of the world's most successful organizations. For several Higher Education Institutions, conducts security assessments and develops strategic planning initiatives.
He is also the founder of (ISC)², Inc. the organization that established the CISSP credential. This organization validates the most widely recognized computer security professional credentials. In 1992, Mr. Corby was named the first recipient of the Computer Security Institute's "Lifetime Achievement Award."
A frequent global speaker and author, he formerly held executive positions with several global consulting organizations including Netigy Corporation and QinetiQ and Gartner Consulting through the acquisition of Meta Group. He was formerly CIO for a division of Ashland Oil and for Bain & Company. A business owner for over 15 years (M Corby & Associates, Inc.) and community supporter, Mr. Corby has established a reputation for creativity and excellence in technology and its application to business needs. He holds a BS EE degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, is a Certified Computer Professional (CCP) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
He has been certified by Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP), is a Certified by Gartner Inc. as a Consulting Engagement Manager and has attained proficiency level in Gartner's I/T Process Control Architecture.
